10 Minute Felt Vest for Ken, No-Sew Option, One Piece, Free Pattern

I'm tickled with this quick felt vest for Ken, the ideas for occasions and holidays are limitless. And since the pattern gets cut out of one folded piece of felt, it costs about 25¢. If you (or your girl) sews, it only requires two 2" straight seams up the sides. You could use Liquid Stitch or hot glue for a no-sew version. I tested Liquid Stitch and it worked well, although that will require time to dry. The vest can be decorated and embellished any way desired.

Here's my Philadelphia Phillies fan version😎

Although I do like it plain too😊

I started with a pattern I found on Pinterest and added about 1" to the length. I've also added a measurement guide to help folks determine pattern size. Save the picture and use the scroll wheel on the mouse until the line equals one inch.

What I did:
  1. Cut pattern from paper.
  2. Fold piece of felt in half.
  3. Place pattern on fold of felt. Pin pattern in place.
  4. Cut vest out.
  5. If your felt has a design, place right sides together (turn inside out).
  6. Sew or glue sides together, aim for a 1/4" seam.
  7. Turn right side out. Gently press side seams so they lay flatter. You could lay a book on the vest to help with that.
  8. Dress Ken and smile at 10 minutes of time well spent😉
