Barbie Makeover #2: Creating a Mini-Me Doll -The Hair

Quick recap: For curiosities sake, I wanted to see if I could take a Barbie type doll and create a look-alike Mini Me. Part One is here where I decided on a Rosie O'Donnell doll (couldn't find a Jennifer Lopez;@) The first, and most obvious change was, she needed a haircut. I have short hair that's brushed back on the sides. Rosie has very dark brown/black hair with ~tons~ of stiffener in it. Mine is dark brown with ~lots~ of gray in it. So I cut her hair and added gray by spraying Rustoleum shiny silver spray paint onto a little paint brush. Then brushed the 'gray' on. Only took two attempts to get the look I wanted...

The doll I started with next to my changes:
Uneven, choppy hair?
It's ok, I cut my own hair too😉
Not a bad start, stay tuned!

~Make something just for fun and have a happy day!

  1. Very nice! I have seen the Rosie head on a curvy made to move body but I wasn't able to see the neck. I know the neck and neck hole of Rosie is larger than any barbie doll. Also, the curvy Jacy Master might work well too.

    1. Thanks for the info, I do wish she had an MTM body! But for now, I'm working on the head and clothes, my Mini Me will be, ah... Stiff:@)
