DIY Easter Deviled Egg Tray for Barbie -From Polymer Clay and Large Button

One of the recurring themes on my Happier Than A Pig In Mud Blog is deviled eggs. I like to try different recipes and decorate or embellish them for holidays and special occasions. So making a Deviled Egg Tray for Barbie has been on my to-do list for a long time. I can officially cross that off the list now:) I was procrastinating because I thought forming the eggs into such a small scale would be difficult and was worried about fingerprints and flaws. But once I accepted they *didn't need to be perfect to portray what they are* and got started, I found it to be easy after all. I think they really turned out cute!

You could use the cap from a pill bottle or cut the bottom off of an empty plastic bottle and use that as a tray too.

There really aren't any directions here folks, it's pretty straight forward...
  1. Simply pull off a very small piece of clay, work it in your hands until soft and form it into a Barbie size egg shape with one end a little narrower than the other. Just remember it needs to be small enough to be a hard boiled egg cut in half.
  2. Make the bottom flat so it will sit on a tray, and make a slight indent into the top (like where the yolk would be).
  3. Then separately form what looks like a little spoonful of yolk mixture out of more clay. I pinched mine a little to form a peak at the top. Two separate pieces, whites and yolks.
  4. Allow to thoroughly air dry or bake per package instructions.
  5. My clay was white so I painted the yolks yellow, allowed paint to dry and super glued yolks to the whites.
  6. Then glued eggs to button/tray.
  7. Ack... Lovin' it!!!
  8. My deviled egg Pinterest board can be found here.
🐰Make something just for fun and have a happy day~
