I wanted to make a new Barbie dress for the summer holidays... This cute crochet dress whips up in no time and of course could be made in any color(s), but I love the red, white and blue! I am a novice crocheter at best and only attempt the craft on rare occasions, but I was happy with the way this outfit turned out. Oh and, those fun toothpick flags you can find at dollar and craft stores make cute Barbie size patriotic decorations too!
I started with this free pattern from
Crochet Spot HERE and it's actually the first crochet pattern I could follow 100%. What I mean by that is,
if I can do it... Anyone should be able to do it😊
My changes: I used a hairband instead of rubber band and crocheted into the back loop only.
I love these funky little $1 yarns I found at AC Moore! The blue is so much fun. I decided to trim the bottom of the dress with it using double crochet, figuring I'd never be able to see the stitches to make additional rows.
I highly recommend trying this super easy pattern
HERE!
I winged my own little
cocktail dress pattern HERE.
This dress was nice and easy too😉
🎈Make something just for fun and have a happy day!
