Barbie: 1:6 Scale Santa Doll Makeover DIY

In a perfect world I would have been able to find a poseable 1:6 scale Santa doll for Barbie play. But not in my world... Even if I opted to pay crazy money for the Coke Hospitality Santa, he comes with brown boots and gloves? The Ricky Ricardo Santa is thin, Rubeus Hagrid Santa is $350??? And I'm not a collector folks, I like to use my dolls for pics. So I started with an action figure doll thrift store rescue, and dug out the Christmas props box to see what I already had... Please stop by Happier Than A Pig in mud to see the transformation:@)

Make something just for fun and have a happy day🎅

  1. He looks great! I have done something similar with wine bottle decorators in a Santa jacket for my dolls. The holidays are a great time to find things for your dolls. Many stores that don’t carry decorations normally will have them for the holidays and many are doll size. I am always on the hunt this time of year and tend to leave no store unexplored! That includes thrift store where you might find a sled for Santa. I love to see what others have found for their dolls in stores and where. So please keep us informed!
I have painted the hair white or gray for my dolls too. I did it because I wanted older dolls and not just teens or twentysomething dolls. Older dolls have interesting lives too!
Finally, I think we live in the same general area. A great place for inspiration and to find a few things is the Byer’s Choice store and Christmas shop in Chalfont (4355 County Line Rd, Chalfont, PA) They have wonderful large holiday scene/diorama displays! They have a show where they sell their item on the premise. They have online and in person sales. Some things may be discounted in the shop. Cousin Rube might find inspiration there.
