Conversation with a four year old about Barbie Blogs... Shoe Box Tales July 2020

The scene: I'm lakeside at the local park with Barbie, Joe, and props in a shoe box. I'm getting ready to set up the dolls for a lazy summer day diorama shoot. It's early in the morning on what's predicted to be a sweltering, humid day. (How come that's the ONLY weather forecast they ever get right??? But I digress...) The park is busy with folks getting some exercise and hoping to beat the heat. A little girl rides up on her bicycle, total stranger.

Girl- Whatcha doin?
Me- Setting up the dolls so I can take some pictures.
Girl- Why?
Me- Because I have a Barbie blog.
Girl- What's a blog?
Me- A place where I share Barbie pictures and craft ideas.
Girl- Why?
Me- Because I think Barbie is pretty and it's fun to make things for her. Do you like Barbie?
Girl- Yep (long pause)... I got a bike.
Me- I see, and it's very nice!
The girl rides off.

And Barbie waves goodbye.
