Ribbon Top and Skirt for Barbie -Cinco de Mayo or Any Day

I added a super easy, and quick, skirt to go with my ribbon top to complete Barbie's Cinco de Mayo outfit. I kept things ~very simple~ and just hot glued it together, what mattered most to me was that it captured the colors and spirit of the holiday. Barbie says she's ready to dance the night away... After a margarita of course:)

I hoard keep little scraps of fabric and ribbon, especially ruffle...
Wrap some green ruffle around the dolls waist, cut to size with enough overlap for closure.
This creates the shape of the skirt.
Then  just add a layer of white and red satin ribbon. My ruffle is 2" wide and ribbon is 1 1/2" wide.
Or... Start with whatever color of ruffle you have and add the other colors in ribbon.

Hot glue each layer to what would be the inside of the skirt.
Then trim each side at an angle to wrap around the doll.
I didn't bother hemming and sewing the sides of this skirt, simply hot glued a couple velcro dots for closure.
You can make yours more finished and as detailed as you'd like.

Make something just for fun and have a happy day😉
