Dollar Tree Alert! 1:6 Scale Sleds -Perfect Barbie Size

If there's one thing I know about Christmas ornaments and spotting items you like... It's buy them when you see them! Things tend to sell out fast and, well, missing out is just no fun. So, I grabbed this ~perfect~ size sled ornament the minute I realized it was made of plastic and would be a nice easy de-constructing craft. The decorations are only hot glued on, simply peel them off and you could reuse the jute for the rope or I used some cording from my stash. This is a perfect little toy for the Barbie kids to go sledding:@)

It takes a little time to pick and peel off all of the hot glue, but it was a sunny day and I just sat outside and took my time. I did give it a quick wipe with rubbing alcohol to try to get the last of the residue off, but my attention span only goes so far and this is fine for my pics and doll play.

The girls look like they are having fun๐Ÿ˜ƒ

My kid dolls don't have a lot of clothes... Especially cold weather gear, but we'll work on that.
Free crochet patterns for infinity scarf here and long Santa or ski hat here (fits all dolls, including Ken).

Ideas:
  1. This is another fun sleepover craft, just make sure you get enough for all of the girls and that you have the patience (or a helper) to help clean-up the glue from all of the sleds... Might not be bad for 2-3 girls, but 10? Just sayin'...
  2. You might want to tuck the ornament away for a snowy day or lazy day craft, let your girl work on the sled for her dolls.
  3. Add the plain sled as a little Barbie stocking stuffer.
  4. Wrap a Chelsea or Kelly doll and tie the box on top of the sled with ribbon as a gift.
  5. Creating your own Christmas cards featuring Barbie? This sled would add to the fun.
  6. Anything goes, and $1 for a true to size Barbie toy or prop, that can't be beat๐Ÿ˜Ž
The ornament I started with (yes, there is a cute, realistic looking sled under there!):

Dollar Tree also has these old fashioned metal baby sleds, they come in red and silver:

And of course, if you're feeling extra crafty, you could always paint the runners red
and maybe add some wood grained contact paper or scrap book paper to the slats.

Make something just for fun and have a happy day๐Ÿ˜‰
